Following in the footsteps of the Manningtree Witches

This very exciting tour, with a dark gothic feeling about it! Set in the two ancient counties of SUFFOLK AND ESSEX!

It traces Matthew Hopkins personal story right back to the very beginning! Travelling back in time even further, we find his CHILDHOOD HOME, and it is a thrill, so atmospheric!

What sort of childhood did he have, that may have lead him to becoming this monsterous shadowy figure of THE WITCH FINDER GENERAL?

We visit the ancient medieval old SUFFOLK CHURCH where Matthew Hopkins Father Preached the strict values of Puritanism as Rector!

We journey in our own cars, lead by Jane, from Suffolk into Essex, and discover the Great Reign of Terror, Hopkins unleashed with fury and zeal in Manningtree.

Hear the intriguing tales of Myth and Legend and errie hauntings, associated with Matthew Hopkins.

Imagine Witches flying on broomsticks on a silver star spangled night, over the ink black waters of The Stour Estuary, spreading Witchcraft and going to wild Sabats with the Devil!

On foot in Manningtree, in its surrounding countryside, our exciting adventure continues, entering a MAGICAL AND MYSTERIOUS WOOD, we see a POND haunted by the Ghost of Matthew Hopkins on the night of a full Moon! Dare you join me?

Visit the LEGENDARY 800 YEAR OLD magnificient KNOBBELEY OAK TREE, that almost spans our whole course of English History!

We hear the intriguing tales of Witches and Druids, and understand why they have such a special connection with magical Oak Trees!

PINOCCHIO BY CARLO COLLODI AND THE WITCHES OAK TREE!

Discover the amazing story of why the Italian writer Carlo Collodi who went onto write the famous Children’s Story, ‘Pinocchio’, was inspired whilst sitting under a great Witches Oak Tree in Italy! The experience found its way into his great novel!
