About

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS TOUR

Visit Northey Island on foot, this is very special! A unique experience, and one of the best walks I have personally taken in all of Essex! Set in truly wild and remote countryside’ in’ The Blackwater Estuary!

Visit an area  that is amazingly atmospheric, and seeped in great historical interest, some think this area maybe the actual site of the Battle of Maldon!

To cross the  causeway, covered in parts by seaweed and small crabs at low tide in The Blackwater Estuary! Whilst enjoying beautiful and  fantastic panoramic views over Northey Island and The Blackwater Estuary.

Enjoy a super peaceful yet very exciting circular walk on Northey Island, that some historians think was used as a base before their attempted raid on Maldon in 991AD, over a thousand years ago!

Enjoy this 6 mile walk, in a truly deeply peaceful place, it restores the soul to walk in such a setting! All you will hear is the sound of the wind, and see the fluttering of gentle butterflies, as we walk along part of the SaltSea Coastal Route Path.

This is a fabulous walking historical  tour, and offers guests a unique and  very special experience!

The Tide Times

I check the tide times very carefully, prior to any tour going ahead, and so the safety of my guests is always very important!

The tour is dependent upon low tide times!  So I will give you the tour timings a week in advance of the tour!  The Tour aims to cross the causeway in the morning!
